I believe that physics has not been able to measure a finiteness of light speed. On the contrary, the speed of light cannot be measured because it is instantaneous. What we have been measuring this whole time is the speed of electromagnetic radiation, which now must be distinguished from the concept of light. The image of the object of the sun, moon, of any other "seen" object occurs instantly. The electromagnetic radiation which we receive from these lighted objects is not responsible for producing the image that we "see". The electromagnetic radiation which we receive at c, merely illuminates the objects that we see instantly. Electromagnetic radiation is a precursor to light.
